As a mom, I wanted my children to play with the foods they saw and loved every day—dosa, idli, roti, dal, and so much more. But everywhere I looked, pretend play sets only had burgers and pizzas.
I wanted something different.
I wanted toys that celebrated our culture, our traditions, and the joy of sharing meals together. So, with love and a lot of late nights, I created The Small Wonderland.
Today, we design handcrafted pretend play food that helps children explore imagination, connect with their roots, and create beautiful memories through play.
Because childhood should feel familiar, meaningful, and a little magical.
Milestones We’re Proud Of
- Started in 2020: Small Wonderland began with a simple idea—bringing authentic Indian food to kids' playtime.
- Launch of our Mahabali Thali Set (April 2020): Our very first set, featuring everything from dosa to Idli , launched in April 2020. Within just a few days, we sold out our entire first batch!
- Expanding Our Collection: After the success of our Mahabali Thali, we couldn’t stop there! One by one, we introduced new play sets, all with a special emphasis on Indian cuisine, from grocery sets to thali-inspired meals.
- Global Demand: What started as a local passion project soon took off internationally! We began receiving huge demand not only from India but from parents all over the world who wanted to introduce their kids to Indian culture through play.
- Supporting Local Artisans: We’re proud to provide sustainable employment to talented women artisans who handcraft each toy with love and care, ensuring every piece is as special as the little hands that play with it.
